Life in SMU. or the apparent lack of.

Gosh. it must have been donkey years since i was last here.

12 weeks of school has gone by. my apparent lack of life has been noticed even by my parents. my mum was surprised i didn’t need to go to school today. a sunday. yes, even Sundays have to be used for meetings. poor me. i knew sch was gonna be busy, but till this extent?

first term back after 2 years. studying wise, i guess its alright. we’ll see after the results are released. though i have to admit my project groupings for this term have been rather good. after hearing of the number of fucked-up team members in other peoples’ groups, im glad mine’s alright! :)

the biggest bitch this term – AW. holy shit i tell u, this is like 2/3 mods combine into one. just the amount of readings that you do will drive you crazy. and to think i got the most morbid topic of all- DEATH. and i’ve got a 8 page essay due for this mod.

YES. SOMEONE PLEASE KILL ME.

oh wells. life’s always a bitch ain’t it.

1 month to the hols. woots!

Of life and death.

Of Orientations and Fun

back from ftb run 2. honestly i wouldn’t call the camp fun. BUT my group was totally awesome la. haha.and guess what, we were somehow crowned BEST GROUP of the camp! we were all like SHOCKED beyond words. seriously for all the activities we were either last or didn’t even complete la. haha. but we had an awsome time as a group. we were like laughing and joking even though the facilitators were like serious about the task. and this is the first time that i’ve ever won something during orientation in my 21 years la!

its kinda an irony that i couldn’t go for asoc camp. if not i would have been quarantined and barred from ftb run 2. and who knows what would have happened. i probably would still meet new friends, but maybe not the same kind of chemistry that this group has. at least i still got to meet a few people from accountancy, who like me, nv went for asoc. haha.

thanks for the memories KIMCHI!

Of Europe and Holidays.

yes im back. from the adventures of europe. and it just keeps getting better.

from the eternal city of rome, to the fashion capital of milan. from the chocolate and fries of brussels, to the timeless beauty of paris. no pictures for now. its all in my sis’s camera. and did i mention wimbledon. the total madness of what is the 3rd grand slam event of the tennis calander!

oh yah. im supposed to be at a school camp right now, but some medical problem came up. booo! what bad luck! :(

it’s hello. goodbye.

10 days back. and 3 days before i leave. another adventure awaits.

i was thinking back on the trip. and i realized i’ve changed quite abit. most importantly, i am happier! :) for whatever reason, i just feel happy. i feel contented. my life feels so much simpler. without the worries of the world on my shoulders. and of course my friends. meet-ups and random mahjong sessions were excellent source of fun and laughter.

and yes i do still feel disillusioned at how we singaporeans can be so ungracious. but maybe that is just the way we are. we were raised this way. it’s always this ’me first’ attitude. i wonder how long it is going to take before we can really change.

i sound a little fed-up with the way things are around here, maybe i am.  just a little bit. haha. now i know why my aunts would choose to live overseas. BUT this is home. my family. the many great friendships i have built. the ultra-efficient transportation system ( seriously i think we take it for granted.  even toronto’s ttc is like old and creaky. haha). the cheap hawker centers. the excellent variety of food. if given a chance, i would choose to work and live overseas for a few years. but eventually, home is where the heart belongs.

When we recall the past, we usually find that it is the simplest things – not the great occasions – that in retrospect give off the greatest glow of happiness.

Hello world!

hey guys. decided to try out wordpress after sooo many years on blogger.

finally back in s’pore! it seems so fast that 2 months have passed. i had a total blast! did many things i never dreamed i would do. haha.

canada was wonderful! it was coldddd as well. which i totally didn’t mind when compared to the freaking heat back home. im like melting everyday. and did i mention the jetlag is killing me. i wake up at 3/4 am and im like totally awake! holy cow la. anyways, i really envy the lifestyle of my aunt and uncle there. they lead a simple enough life, but they are happy. and i can feel their joy in enjoying the simple things in life. i hope that one day my life will be like that as well. from london to toronto to ottawa to niagara falls. ontario was a sight to behold. meeting old friends, making new ones. isn’t this what life is suppose to be. :)

ok. and on to the states. st augustine is the oldest city in USA. the first to be found by spanish explorers. the beach down the road is so sparkling and vibrant. the ocean streatches miles and miles into the horizon and the shoreline is never ending. the neighbours are so friendly they even offer to mow your grass. and the shopping is MADNESS!  why doesn’t s’pore have factory outlets man! seriously if i had brought more money, i would have spent every penny of it. all your brand names from ralph lauren to calvin klien to coach. you name it, they have it. at spanking low prices. haha

and to round off the trip, who can miss out on disney when your in florida! disneyland was a dream come true. wasn’t sure i was going there in the first place cus it was mightly expensive to get a hotel and the park tickets. but lucky me, i had a friend who happens to be interning at disney when i was there, and she got me in free! im like ‘how lucky can i get!’ from magic kingdom to epcot and animal kingdom to hollywood studios, everything was like a dream. universal studios’ islands of adventure had the most wicked rides ever! i wonder what would the s’pore version be like? if its even close to what it is in the states, i bet it’s gonna be a total sell-out!

anyways, this concludes my once-in-a-lifetime trip. i doubt i’ll be heading north anytime soon. next up, the adventures of europe! can’t wait.
